Why are the animals a problem? I have raccoons, groundhogs, and possums, and none cause any issues. Possums actually eat about 1800 ticks a month, or some ridiculous number. They attract the ticks to them as they move, and then pick them off and eat them.
I would doubt you could find a place without raccoons in the US.
You should see the large hole that has been dug in the ground by an old large tree. If I do not stop the problem at the source, I will lose the tree and possibly cause problems to a neighbor’s property.
I agree with you about the possums. The armadillos dig up small spots in my yard. I can tolerate some critters on my property.
In my case we have free range chickens, so, any medium size predator (like an opossum) is a problem. Even small predators are problems with chicks that go out with their “mom’s”.
So happy that I was looking at your posts in July, and found your post about possums eating ticks!
Now I guess I’ll over look having some possums around...
Thanks for the info, even if I found it late...
