Mark Levin: I won't back Trump in the general (Flashback)
Politico ^ | April 2016 | Hanna Trudo

Posted on 06/24/2025 6:48:58 AM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

The #NeverTrump movement just got another backer. Conservative radio host Mark Levin threatened on Friday that he will not support Donald Trump in the general election, should he be the nominee.

Levin, a strong supporter of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, said that Trump’s allies had made the billionaire Republican front-runner toxic.

…“If they piss me off one more time, I’m going to urge millions and millions of you, should he get the nomination, not to vote for him either,” he said.

These guys get monster egos and think they know everything. Bannon blew it this time too by trashing anyone who did not agree with him.

Mark Levin: I won’t back Trump in the general (Flashback)

Big deal, Trump and Reagan among others once were in lockstep with the democrats.

Many Republicans were concerned about Trump in 2016. We were not sure how he would govern. Now most of those Republicans support Trump.

Maturity is constantly evaluating data and using the results of the new analysis to check if any positions need to be modified. I fell for Trump instantly, but I respect all those who came to him slowly. And even if their analyses lead to temporary queasiness, I trust that their continuing evaluations will bring them back to trusting his instincts and his decisions.

I fully share your opinion. Intellect, strident ranting...I rearely listen because he’s so darn crabby.
However, it’s the sign of a powerful mind that he’s open to changing it, and that he did. He clearly admires Pres. Trump now.
Why he should now become a target in a circular firing squad is beyond comprehension. A few words out of context?
He doesn’t trust the Islamists. Well who does?
He doesn’t think a “ceasefire” is a remedy for thousands of years of hatred. Does anyone?
He probably assumes that if they survive, the Iranian lunatics in charge will go right back to their wicked ways, trying to develop the means to extinguish Israel. Does anyone doubt it?

Levin is usually angry, ranting about this or that while offering zero in terms of remedy. I don’t pay attention to him anymore.

Indeed. It's usually liberals who are perpetually angry and always complaining without ever offering a solution as to what they're squawking about.

C’mon, man! Levin has been solidly pro-Trump since the 2016 general election. And he’s got company such as Michael Barry who was way more negative toward President Trump and now is a big supporter. Glenn Beck, no favorite of mine, has come around.

I thought I held grudges you guys don’t let anything go. I’m just waiting for somebody to bring up that Rush wasn’t 100% the way people wanted him to be behind President Trump because I know I saw that back then.

Correct. Levin’s rants are a turn off. He’s like Hannity: white noise. I don’t understand why either of them have audiences or fiances.

It's an exercise in futility dragging up past positions. Irrelevant. I've followed Mark for years, and sometime he infuriates me. But he is on the MAGA train; what happened in the past means nothing.

Levin is a washed-up has-been with little influence and no power, so what he thinks is irrelevant, then and now.

Levin was behind Rick Santorum in the 2016 run, way past the due date so to speak and Trump was way ahead of anybody else. Over my damned dead body would I ever vote for one of The Great Compromise candidates, I hardly ever say something nice about the sellout republicans but they haven’t directly put a president in the WH from the senate for over a century.

Haven’t listened to that blabbermouth since then, Mark has great intelligence but lacks in the common sense ideals. Notice the dems almost exclusively pick from the senate. Loser McCain was a perfect example of a compromising sellout.

I agreed with Mark in 2016. A lot of conservatives were wary of Trump - for good reason.

We were wrong.

Dissension is one thing but somebody like Levin, who is hard to listen to already, but has a radio show on SiriusXM Patriot and syndicated on hundreds of radio stations, that is a different story. I used to listen to Wilkow on Sirius then Levin would follow and I kept listening. He gets started on a subject and gets louder and more strident as if what he was saying was of any more effect than someone’s wife constantly complaining about the car in the garage. I listened anyway because he did have some salient ideas. He started off against Trump one day and that was it for me. I would rather listen to Hew Hewitt. Not much better but definitely not worse.

Agreed. People have a short memory. Levin was upfront on his Cruz support. When Trump won, like many, was pleasantly surprised. Levin has been a pretty strong supporter for years. Especially, concerning the lawfare during the 2020 election. Yes, Levin in hawkish on Ukraine and Israel. Trump is not bothered by Levin.
