Bannon is right on the money!
He’s full of shiite, like you.
“Iraq wasn’t a failure of intelligence. It wasn’t an honest mistake. It was a bald-faced lie.”
Nope. That is horseshit. I had access to classified info back then. SOME of it was mistaken, but it was not “a bald-faced lie.”
Steve Bannon is a self-serving bullshitter. There is a reason Trump threw him out YEARS ago!
Right about what? Hard to say from just a .32 second clip on X.
Folks can argue this to death and partialities will govern opinion
Me
Id prefer Iran without a nuke for sure
Israel started something they damn well better finish
Everything else is noise
It’s war and you can always find agit prop from the world blob
Trump can’t fix that in five months
And u can always find some reason in your foes logic
Absolutely!
No one is lying. Iran has a huge uranium enrichment facility hidden from attack under a mountain, and a robust nuke program just waiting for the final step.
Israel indeed created pressure by starting the attack.
Trump now needs to decide.
I don’t see any lies behind this situation. Iraq had nothing like this. Not even close.
Not saying it’s an easy decision, but obviously the Iran nuke program is the one card Iran doesn’t want to give up.
Iran has been a horrendous world actor for decades, threatening Israel and America.
The situation is what it is.
Oh, those 30,000 centrifuges?
Pay them no heed. Some high school machine shop students must have gotten tired of memorizing the Koran.
Would you believe the brother of a mullah just happens to own a machining business?
There’s a lot of conservative influencers warning Trump to stay out of Iran. His presidency will be over if he doesn’t heed their advice. The deep state is demanding regime change not just dropping a couple of bunker busters on Fordow. China and Russia are suggesting that they have Iran’s back and will no doubt be providing Iran with military equipment. This is a disaster waiting to happen and Trump is a fool if he falls for their neocon gambit. I thought he would be smarter than that but perhaps not.
Ok, who’s lying now? What’s the ‘bald face lie’ and who is spreading it?
You’re right, We’re getting “bald-faced” lies from Steve Bannon and Rand Paul.
Oh noes.
So Iran is making the same mistake Saddam made. Lying about their capabilities? If so...that’s their fault.
Here’s a tip: Don’t tell nations you are going to destroy them as soon as you get nukes and that you almost have nukes.
We need a posting catetory called “People Who Think They Are Smarter Than Trump”.
It would be the biggest on the site.
Bald faced lies from who? After that cringe inducing debacle with Tucker the other day his credibility is in the toilet along with Tucker’s. There’s a reason Bannon isn’t in the inner circle anymore.
“does Jews, dey lied! 🙄
The US has a real, essential interest in ensuring Iran doesn’t get the bomb.
This comment may be a bit off the subject, but I am guessing everyone is talking about possession of WMD. However, possession was irrelevant to invading Iraq. The ceasefire ended, and the war begun in 1991 was resumed in 2003, because Hussein behaved in material breach of international obligations as reaffirmed with Resolution 1441. Nowhere in Congressional resolutions of 1991, 1998 and 2002, or UN Resolutions 678, 687 and 1441 can one see possession of stockpiles of WMD as reasons for confronting him with military action. Emerging behavior in terms of threats, evasion, intimidation, and continuing past actions, not possession, was always the key. He was to unconditionally accept destruction or removal of all inventories and programs for WMD and for all missiles over 150-kilometre range. He was enjoined from committing, supporting, or providing safe haven for international terrorism.
The Security Council approved Resolution 687, incorporated 678 and 19 previous resolutions without amendment, and offered Hussein a conditional, unilateral ceasefire in 1991. The resolution’s key words were to guarantee, reaffirm, accept, submit, declare, yield, forgo, agree, inform, comply, and cooperate. None of these resolutions were cobbled together like a middle schooler’s term paper. Diplomats and politicians laboriously parsed each phrase for clear focus on actions instead of possessions; behaviors, not stockpiles.
Netanyahu has been ranting about Iran being on the verge of getting a nuclear weapon for 30 years.
Did he launch this war to shore up his sagging approval rating in hopes he'd drag us into it?
That has put Trump in a very difficult position.
We got bad intel because our politicized intel agencies tell the President what he wants to hear.
A few years before, the intel agencies told Clinton Iraq was not a threat. After 9/11, they told Bush it was.
And they weren't lying: what they were concealing was that they didn't know, just like they didn't put the pieces together before 9/11 or before the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The intel agencies were gutted after the Dem media coup against Nixon and the Church Committee hearings afterwards. Before that they had a clear mandate to focus on Communist threats both abroad and at home. Afterwards they learned that minding the political interests of the powers that be, especially the domestic threat and corruption of the Dem's leftism, was the key to a long and prosperous career.
We have good sigint regarding immanent military threats. We have virtually non-existent humint because of leaks and moles and virtually no capability to track slow-moving long-term clandestine threats.
