Russia has strongly defended Iran’s right to maintain peaceful nuclear installations. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Iran had the right to such facilities in the past, holds it now, and will continue to do so in the future. She made these remarks while speaking to Sputnik Radio, stressing that peaceful nuclear sites are now under direct attack.

Zakharova warned that the threat of nuclear conflict in the Middle East is no longer a theory but a real and growing danger. She said these attacks are not only increasing tensions but also posing a serious threat to both the region and the entire world.

According to Russian news agency TASS, Zakharova highlighted that assaults on peaceful nuclear infrastructure have made the nuclear threat a reality. She emphasized that Iran’s nuclear facilities are legally justified and now under active threat, which is a matter of global concern.

“Peaceful” nuclear program hidden in a mountain bunker.

Like with criminals, terrorist states don’t have as many “rights” as the rest of us.

Hey Russia, how about defending the right of the Iranian people to live in the modern world instead of a primitive Islamic time warp?

It would be harder for Russia to keep Iran under it’s thumb if Iranians were allowed to think for themselves. Let’s just put all the cards on the table.

Russia supplied the Iranians with a ton of materials, know-how, experience, money, technical expertise, maybe some Uranium to start and now? Now they are seeing their 40 year investment in the Middle East go down the centrifugal tubes!

Kick the Russkies clear out of the region.

They’ve kicked themselves out.

They had a beachhead in Syria (and still kind of do) but their stupid frolic and detour in Ukraine has sucked up their entire bandwidth. All the “good” equipment went home to fight.

They also used the ME as a profit center, selling their crap weaponry to Iran. No one will buy S400s again. They’re worthless.

“No one will buy S400s again. They’re worthless”

Unless you are trying to shoot down commercial airlines, which Russia is adept at.

President Trump is on-board too - only he knows that zero is the number if Iran is to maintain “peaceful nuclear facilities”

Sounds like a good reason to blow up Kharg island and Irans entire oil infrastructure so they don’t have cash.

Indeed, the two options for Iran are: (1) regime change to something not insane or (2) utter destruction of its economy so it takes a long time to rebuild and be able to find terror proxies/build or buy bombs.

That would be Chinese cash. Remember that the prequel to Pearl Harbor was cutting off the Japanese oil supply. IOW, that's a tough choice too.

Iran’s nominal electricity generation capacity is around 95,000 megawatts (MW). 57% from natural gas and the remainder from hydroelectric sources. They have no need whatsoever for nuclear electricity sources. They have plentiful gas reserves and no unusually hungry needs for nuclear, like the U.S. does for massive AI server farms.

Iran has the largest oil deposits in the world. They don’t need nukes for energy. Get real!
