Michelle Obama: Springsteen and wife have been ‘couple mentors’

Former first lady Michelle Obama said rock singer Bruce Springsteen and his wife have been a guiding light for her marriage.

The comments, which she made on the Wednesday episode of her “IMO” podcast, come as Springsteen celebrates 34 years with his wife, singer-songwriter Patti Scialfa.

“You and Patti have been couple mentors for me and Barack for quite some time,” Obama told the musical artist.

She added that she respects the two for remaining “powerhouses in [their] own right and merging those lives together.”
