Couches are usually firmer than beds. The mattress industry spent decades advertising that soft is good, and actually soft is bad. It’s bad for you back, and not as easy to fall asleep on. The human body was built for floating on a cloud, it was build for sleeping on the ground.
I prefer a leather couch but right now it’s faux leather-cheaper.
It’s the stuffing inside that matters. But generally we don’t make couches or chair nearly as soft as beds because that just makes it harder to get out of.

I put on sports. There is so little talent in pro or college sports that I can look for and see the screwups and it takes my mind off trying to doze off. I’m old enough to have seen Dr. Zhivago in the theaters and I saw a few with their heads back and to the side.
