Strange study article ... says a good percent of the participants did NOT complete the study 🥺

And, how are they working in 8,000 steps in 30 minutes??? Especially with slower, then ‘somewhat hard’ walking?

If you can “walk” 8 mph you are already in pretty good shape.

Exactly my point .. you’re actually running, at that point.

Grok agrees ...

To achieve 8,000 steps in 30 minutes, you’d need to move at approximately 7.58 mph (12.19 km/h), which is not feasible by walking alone for most people. This pace suggests jogging or running, as it exceeds typical walking speeds and cadences. If you’re aiming to walk, you’d likely need more time (e.g., 60–80 minutes at a brisk 4 mph pace) to reach 8,000 steps.

I used to jog for about 400m and then walk. It gets the heart rate up for the walk.

Dog walking a hound works about the same. Stop to sniff then go fast

Maybe they didn’t complete the study because they found out they couldn’t go that fast?

><

Same here. I’m 74 and keep up a good pace on level ground. I know my limits and adjust my pace on slopes. Deep breathing with slow exhaling through the mouth is important.

The 8000 steps is you DAILY goal. You don’t do that in 30 minutes. Your 8000 steps covers your whole day of movement with some of it done in the 3 faster/3 slower style.

Walking thirty minutes a day is all you need. I walk golf courses while playing which is around 8 miles.

Well, my daily steps are more than that....and, I get most of them in, at one workout time.
