I believe Mexico only had it for about 20 years it was deserted basically a few people and american indians..wasn’t worth 15 million back then...but we paid them.nuff said our leaders have abdicated and ignored their responsibilities for decades to get votes and allowed this crap to fester and now it is boiling over.its like the overspending it will have a day of reckoning also...politicians in congress for forty plus years...ridiculous and needs to change. look at doge and all the waste fraud and abuse....sickening. maybe we are at the cusp of a civil war..we the people against corrupt politicians?

IF THE SW was still owned by Mexico, the USA would have border patrolmen on the RED RIVER and Mississippi river to stop the influx of Mexicans heading EAST, and the SW would be as bad off as Mexico is now.
