Protestants love to debate one another. We will also openly criticize our own denomination. I’m UMC and I do it all the time. We expect others to do it as well.
Have you been on any of the Catholic threads? Nobody is harder on the Catholic Church than Catholics. But the pile-on from Protestants is ferocious, incessant, and frankly without much Christian charity. But as I said, that's life and we let it roll off our backs.
My point is that we should all be able to state our opinions openly, and that we should all be able to take even harsh criticism without getting whiny about it.

If nobody is harder on Catholicism than Catholics, then why kvetch about what non-Catholics have to say?
