I think congresspersons who vote for a peacetime budget that has a deficit should be responsible to pay for the deficit themselves. I propose indentured servitude until the bill is paid.

So, Sneaker Johnson can explain the BBB better (to Elon), than Pres Trump?

I can’t imagine a scene where Mike Johnson is able to out-argue THEE Elon Musk. I’m seeing Shivering Kitten vs Saber Toothed Tiger. But, there’s always a first time for everything.

Well he can at least explain how congress can’t put most of the cuts Elon wants in a reconciliation bill and he has recission bills with those cuts lined up. I don’t think Trump is as up on parliamentary rules as the speaker of the house and neither are most of the idiots in congress and this site screaming about a balanced budget to fix the deficit all at once.

I think Elon thought the DOGE cuts would be in the bill. But they will be done separately...

“Why would Johnson need to talk to musk. Musk is not only out, he was never elected.”

He is going to threaten him to be a team player or else...

“I don’t understand why Trump keeps pushing this bill.”

Because his advisors (who cannot be trusted) keep telling him is the best thing since sliced bread.

Trump is but a temporary aberration.

The USA will remain on the path to destruction given the wills of the GOPee and ‘Rats.

There is no long term planning.

I think Pres Trump and/or his advisors, who do talk to Elon, are able to explain the various complexities and workings of the House rules.

But, I’m for anything Sneaker can do, that helps get the BBB passed.

Yep, I like Elon but he is also guilty of the exaggeration of big beautiful cuts which he said could approach 2 trillion, and we got 190 billion.

Why? Musk has freedom of speech. I keep getting told he saved it

I think it’s staged. Both Trump and Musk understand Democrats.

They know that anything Trump is “for,” they will be “against.”

Did you notice how all the Dems, including Jeffries, Schumer and others all of a sudden were “liking” Musk?

So if Musk opposes the BBB, it will lessen the Dems opposition to it.

Trump and Musk are working together.

Just my theory.

The recission proposals have been talked about since the beginning of DOGE. Trump is the one talking about balancing the budget. At least Elon has a numerical target of 1-2 trillion but they have to be consistently moving in that direction. Especially before we even know that the tariffs are going to be nevermind how much revenue they will produce.
