Carr Valley Cheese is always a stop on our regular Wisconsin Dells visits...cranberry chipotle cheddar, smoked pepper jack, gran canaria over veggies, and white wine (Wollersheim) cheese spread (or dip pretzles in). Liked their tiny shop off I94, but not as quaint now that they paired with another shop a block away. They have mmmaaaannnnyyyy choices and there’s always some new comestibles to try. Wollersheim Winery is great, and Distillery and Fawn Creek Winery’s summer music venue is a beautiful afternoon.

She didn’t detour to the National Mustard Museum in Middleton?

No. I was wrong, they went to Broadhead. I have heard of the National Mustard Museum. I’ll have to go there one of these days.

I highly recommend Gjetost, alt. “Brunost” or “Mysost”, a Norwegian ‘anti-cheese’ made with whey, milk, and/or cream.

The dominant US importer is the Ski Queen brand. It is popular both there and in South Korea, for some reason.

I prefer it as a breakfast cheese, and it pairs well with breakfast fruits and other fare.

The National Mustard Museum left Mount Horeb probably a decade ago. They are in Middleton, now.

Fun shop. I love how they let you sample everything with a pretzel stick. :)
