They have these boxes you have to put your carry on into to see if it fits and can be carried on.

They should do the same for passengers.

Restaurants in some Asian countries offer increasing discounts for customers who can squeeze through bars.

Yep. Like they do on helicopter tours - each of us had to get on a scale before we boarded - and then were seated according to our weight.

Planes should have a few rows of extra-wide seats - costing more but maybe not as much as first class - for plus-sized passengers. Heard plenty of horror stories of someone having to sit next to an obese passenger on a long flight and losing 1/2 their paid-for seat due to overflow.
