If it were an asteroid or comet, the amateur astronomers all over the planet would be telling us.

If it is an alien contact ship arriving, they would keep it a secret because peoples’ faith in their various religions would be destroyed and global chaos would ensue.

If it was some solar flare phenomena like in the Nicholas Cage movie “KNOWING”, then the world would just go completely insane like at the end of the movie.

If there is a danger, TPTB would not tell us in any case..............

I was thinking along those lines.

A pole shift (geophysics isn’t classified)
An asteroid impact (astronomers would see it)
A solar event (solar physicists would warn us)
A climate collapse (already public, no need for oaths)

That leaves only one domain where:

The information is tightly compartmentalized
Civilian scientists have little or no access
And insiders express urgency but can’t talk

Conclusion:

If the event were publicly knowable, we'd already know.
If it's still secret, it's because it's inaccessible to civilian science.
If people like Coulthart are being warned but not briefed, something compartmentalized and intelligence-related is behind it.
If there's a deadline, it's not because of good planning—it's because of external pressure or a forced hand.
If the event were known globally, it would have leaked through other nations or scientific channels by now.
The fact that only a handful of insiders—bound by U.S. or allied national security oaths—are hinting at it implies the knowledge is restricted to a small intelligence bloc, like the United States or Five Eyes.

This all suggests non-human disclosure scenario being forced on the government, not asteroid or AI apocalypse.
