“Monday night would be another night to look out, especially in the more northern locations,” Mr. Dahl said. “But for those who are eager to see the aurora, where they usually don’t get to see it, the best chance would be Sunday night.”

If the sky clears up. It’s been overcast all day.

I’m guessing the northern lights would best be observed viewing in a northerly direction ;-)

Grew up in North Dakota and saw them regularly. Mostly in the west northwest direction, actually.

Which direction, what time frame? Now which direction would the Northern Lights be? North, South, East or West?
Sorry. It's just too difficult a question.

Look to the SOUTH to see the Northern Lights.

That doesn’t look very promising for Northeastern WA or North Idaho.

A solar electromagnetic pulse? This is the night the lights go out in Georgia.

Smartaleks: See post #7. It was a legitimate question.
In Butte, Montana, for instance, you'd want to look east northeast.

You are either going to be able to see it or you aren’t. All you have to do is look at the sky. At night. It’s not rocket science.

Because, in 20-20 hindsight, my question wasn’t phrased very well and you two were having too much fun just piling on. ;->

We used to go and sit on the shore of the big lake when we lived in the UP.
Right up over the top of us sometimes.
Faint hissing and snapping and a strange feeling in the air.
Some said they could smell something.
Lots of colors. Really a beautiful site.

“The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, was that night on the marge of Lake LaBarge...”
Sam was from Tennessee, so I guess he could have stayed home if he knew he could see the Northern Lights from there if he just waited long enough.

Still wonder if the stars will fall on Alabama. Might cause hearts to beat like a hammer. 🌠🌠🌠🌠
