I’m having a total left knee replacement the end of july.
I have total bone on bone - i saw the xrays and mri - and I was told my meniscus is shredded. I didn’t know what I was looking at and I don’t know what that means...
Can’t handle the pain. Left knee hurts so bad I don’t really know how bad the right knee is.
My golf game has gone way south. Playing anyway...how worse can i get ?

You’re gonna feel so much better after you have it done!
Knee pain like that is bloody HELL!
The meniscus is kind of like a disc that is between
the bones of your knee, kind of like a cushion.
When that gets destroyed, your bones grind together.
My heart goes out to you.

The part that is hurting you will be GONE!
When hubby had his hip replaced, he was running circles
around me and everybody!

It won’t feel REAL better until after the first two weeks
but it’s gonna be SO much better, you’ll see!

P.S. Don’t push it too much playing golf, ok?
If you end up trashing your right knee too, you will Really be in a pickle!
Take it easy, ok?
You’ll be fine!

I’ve had both knees done, stylin.

It’s a relief to have no more knee pain. You’ll wish you’d had it done long ago.

No golfing for you until after the surgery! Really, bone on bone, that don’t sound good.

I know people who have had knee replacement and are very happy they did.

For me though I don’t think I would have it done especially at my age.

Hopefully with you new knee (maybe both eventually) you’ll be able to resume your golfing without pain. I think you realize the suggestions of backing away for now is probably wise

It’s hard as we get older to give up life long activities that gave us pleasure. It was that way with biking and kayaking for me. But it was time
