Is Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning Worth Seeing?

I loved Top Gun Maverick. I know this one is not as good, but is it still worth seeing at the movies?

Taps a fine movie. Of course I wouldn’t call his character cocky. Rather, he was just psycho!

Greatly surpasses the boundaries of reality, but keeps you on the edge of your seat anyway.

Typical MI... but worth seeing. Being the sequel and part 2 of the last one, it does a pretty good job of wrapping things up.

Far better than some of the other crap they are trying to pass off as movies these days.

Well Done.

Any point to the contrary is just plain boring.

I have not been in a movie theater since 1970 - Patton.

Dang. There's this movie called "The Godfather", and I was hoping you could tell me if it was any good.

“”The last big stunt scene really is spectacular.””

Is that where he jumps off the cliff on a motorcycle? Haven’t seen the movie but must be there were parts of it online. That’s the only place I would have caught it and that was back in 2023....

I was never a Tom Cruise fan but liked “A Few Good Men” a lot. Then I found out that he does his own stunts - took flying lessons, has his pilot certificate but not sure if anything other than PVT Pilot..believes in learning FOR the job, I guess!

I was disappointed to find out that he was picked for the role of Jack Reacher...He’s not at all what I pictured Jack Reacher as being from the books but I’ve seen a few of those shows and he does a good job.

Be careful leaping to conclusions, I guess!

“Well, if that’s the way you feel about movies why did you feel you needed to comment on this thread? Who cares that you don’t go to movies?”

I care that I do not go to movies. I refuse to help pay the exorbitant salaries of the communist bitches who run the movie industry. I look down my nose at ANYONE who spends their time in movies! I am hoping that others with open minds will see this post and stop paying the communists.....such as you seem to enjoy doing!

Bullish, please go bully someone else. I was raised by the biggest bully the world has ever seen.

Go home, son, before you get your feelings hurt! ;-)

Now, please, buzz off! ROFL @ YOU!

“Dang. There’s this movie called “The Godfather”, and I was hoping you could tell me if it was any good.”

Aha! You did not absorb what I said in my post: I wait until movies are on cable TV! ;-)

I have seen, “The Godfather,” on TV many times because I think that it is one of the best comedies I have ever seen! ROFL

As a matter of fact, I laugh at most movies because they are not “real.” It is all fake, phony hogwash meant to entertain! If anyone gets serious about what they see in fictitious movies then I feel great empathy for them! ;-)

My wife thinks that it is, ‘deplorable,’ for me to laugh when she hears serious things in the movies I watch! Like car chases, for example, and when they wreck or kill the bad guy I laugh hysterically! I even laugh when the bad guys win! ROFLAMOASTD

LOL! Well…It’s like the movie Apollo 13 that way. You know how it ends. What you don’t know is how they made it to the end! 🙂

Chill out, nobody’s after you and you can post anything within JR’s rules here. So can I.

Sorry your feelings are so paper thin.

I’ve seen the latest MI in IMAX. Fell asleep 5 minutes in. Absolutely unrealistic. It was in my opinion an ego movie for Cruise to prove he is still relevant by doing his own stunts.

I saw it last weekend and I did love it. It’s run time is about 2 hours, 49 minutes, but out did not seem like it. Cruise did and amazing number of stunts.
I was entertained and it was pure escapism.
Cruise throws everything into doing a film and for 63 he looks 40.
Good adventure and action movie.

He has inspired me to get into even better shape, I will be 70 on Tuesday and now I am walking about 4 to 6 miles a day.

Top Gun Maverick sure gets around.

I haven't been to a theater in decades, but you've gotta love the title along with the timing:

משימה בלתי אפשרית: חשבון סופי

Mission "Impossible": Final arithmetic, and some gal named Wisdom (Sophie)

סופי ---> יוסף

Genesis 30:24 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.

Benoni, 11 Cheshvan 2208 --

Counting 40 from the beginning of the year, Day 41.

(41st -- ordinal as 5 and 41: ה-מ"א)

Released May 23, 2025 (United States)
Omer: Day 40 - Hod sheb'Yesod
Tonight Count 41

https://www.chabad.org/calendar/view/day.asp?tdate=05%2F23%2F2025

541 = "הוא היתה אם כל-חי" (Gen 3:20)

משימה -- it's amazing what leaps out from a single "mission"; e.g.

the heavens
Moses who?
Hashem who?

And that's not even counting the "מה" standing in the place of the chet. 🤔

Hod that is in Yesod. It's like Bethlehem in Judea:

י*הוד*ה

It goes on, obviously, because of

"an individual (or a couple) that will master mind and master heart this giant planetary-scale project of coordinating all of humanity into a single, smoothly operating organism, that will run as efficiently as a person’s body. According to Kabbala, all of humanity, actually all of creation, is really a single partzuf, a single Adam. In fact, one main feature of messianic consciousness is a greater awareness of our oneness in this regard.

https://www.chabad.org/kabbalah/article_cdo/aid/1893861/jewish/Glass-Half-Empty-Consciousness-of-Tisha-bAv.htm

On a highly related note, I figure that I'll soon have the opportunity to explain a little about a personal collection of mine from the Soviet era.

The stunt where he jumps off the mountain with the motorcycle is in the previous movie Dead Reckoning Part One.
Which is on Amazon Prime.

The movie in the theater is the second part.
So, it is helpful to watch that first.

I also watched the one prior to that where they introduced Elsa. There is a great motorcycle chase scene in that movie.
Again Cruise is actually driving the bike in that one.

The one in the theater ends with a fifteen minute or more WWI biplane chase/acrobatics scene. Where Cruise is literally hanging on the wheels, wing and other parts of the plane.
Again, it is really him.
Not a stunt man.
Pretty cool for a 62 year old man.
My age.

You know how it ends.

I have high hopes that "Titanic" turns out okay.

Worth seeing only if T. Cruise is not in it.
