“The medical industry wants you to believe heartburn is caused by too much acid.

Senator Johnson discovered the opposite—the real issue was too little.”

So burping up acid can be cured by drinking more acid??????

AI overview:

“Betaine HCL with pepsin is sometimes considered a natural remedy for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). It works by increasing stomach acid, which can help improve digestion and reduce symptoms like heartburn and acid reflux. Some theories suggest that low stomach acid can lead to incomplete digestion of proteins, which may contribute to GERD.”

It's paradoxical, but yes. You have to look at WHY you're burping up acid. Taking acid blockers often exacerbates the problem. For years I popped Rolaids and Tums like candy, and even then, my acid reflux made it hard to sleep at night. I investigated and (1) started drinking lemon water during the day and (2) stopped eating sugar and gluten, which were reflux triggers for me. I also stopped snacking so I could give my digestive system a break. Haven't had acid reflux in a decade.

What you are burping up has a small amount of acid. If it had lots more, you wouldn’t be burping anything as the LES could close and prevent it.

Yes!! low stomach acid makes your gut bloat (due to proliferation of bad bacteria as acid kills them), causing the sphincter at the top of your stomach to stay open, allowing acid to enter your esophagus
