Launch in less than 1 hour
1) Superheavy booster did not survive restart of its engines. The planned “engine out” experiments did NOT occur.
2) Starship did NOT achieve a stable suborbital trajectory; attitude control was lost after SECO.
3) Starship did NOT successfully open the cargo bay doors.
4) Starship did NOT deploy the Starlink simulators.
5) Starship did NOT make a controlled reentry. The planned test of the new type heat shields did NOT occur.
To hell with MSN ... I watched the broadcast live.
• The company reused one of its Super Heavy rocket boosters for the first time after successfully recapturing the 60-story-tall vehicle on a prior test.
• The spacecraft made it farther into its flight path than in previous tests this year, but it was not able to accomplish a couple key objectives, including deploying test satellites that it was carrying along on the flight and reigniting engines upon reentry. - https://www.cnn.com/science/live-news/spacex-starship-flight-9-launch-05-27-25
100% spacex got lots of new data for the booster and starship
They didn’t get any data on handing a booster “engine out” scenario.
They didn’t get any data on deploying satellites from Starship.
They didn’t get any data on the new heat shield.
I don’t think that’s the primary reason, SpaceX has ramped up to multiple launches per week so it’s become routine plus everything is streamed live on the internet giving just about everyone the chance to watch the launches so there is no reason to broadcast it over the air, unlike the Apollo missions which were new and revolutionary and no internet streaming existed
True they didnt, because of problems with the door,
its the firat time re use of a booster, so any data is better then zero.
well when ship is in a spin it hard for the heat shield tiles to work. but they got video of the breakup.. got to get a handle on the rapter2 engines
