The P226 is balanced for firing. Like the barrel doesn’t move up a bit using regulation ammo. Makes putting multiple rounds into the bullseye at 25M a breeze. Easy to qualify as Expert - Pistol.
Expert Pistol Looks good on the Class A uniform and helps with promotion.
Shhhhh... I was Expert even with M203 and hand grenade. Had to remove them after a year of course.
The 203 was fun at Graff and WildChicken using the larger HE rounds.

The 203 was fun
I remember my last range firing in the Army, it was on 8-9 Sep 2001. I told my MSG that we were at the end of fiscal year so ask for extra ammo. We has two M203's and 600 rounds of TPT. I got 2 dozen rounds to fire, I pumped a few single thru windows, but then rapid fired about 20 rounds. It hit me, the M203 is a great final protective fires weapon, but every other time I fired it was at most 2-3 rounds.
Took me 24 years to figure that out.
