This is why you have to take the cash payout if you win, you could never count on 20 years of payments

State lottos are a rip off (except for those who run them).

What exactly is the alleged problem with the use of couriers?

The ticket purchase was illegal because they have to be purchased in person and not through a courier service.
To: EastTexasTraveler
So to buy the ticket the courier had show his ID. If I were the courier I’d claim the ticket

I believe Illinois stopped paying/suspended payments for a while a few years ago.

The ticket purchase was illegal because they have to be purchased in person and not through a courier service.then-executive director Ryan Mindell said that lottery ticket courier services “are not allowed under Texas law and that the Commission would move forward with proposed rule amendments prohibiting such services in the future.”
If couriers are illegal, why are they having to "move forward with proposed rule amendments prohibiting such services in the future."
Plus she's been doing this for years, and has always been paid for her winnings.

The Texas Lottery Commission is so corrupt that the legislature has just voted to abolish the commission. It would be better if they would abolish the lottery.

There seems to be a lot of reports recently of state lottos and casinos not honoring big jackpot payouts for one lame reason or another.
I’m glad gambling isn’t one of my vices.
The rest are far less expensive and aggravating.😁

Now, after taxes, she’s going to have to split the remainder with the damned lawyers 50/50. It’s why they took the case in the first place. She’s gonna get almost nothing. Maybe $15 million.

Pay whoever possesses the ticket. If the ticket is stolen, that’s another issue. If she gave the ticket away as a gift and it hit, the recipient couldn’t claim the prize?

“almost nothing”. I’ll take “almost nothing”. I think I can get by with 15 million.

The state government is like this:
The “Naked City” episode “A Run for the Money” Season 2, Episode 22 which aired on March 14, 1962.
It features a woman who wins a large amount of money on the numbers, but the man who took her money doesn’t pay up.

LOL! "Naked City" immediately caught my attention:
“There are 8 million stories in the naked city.”
Loved that show. Also "Route 66", "77 Sunset Strip", "Hawaiian Eye". LOLZ.

A problem I’d love to have!
Of course, I always do take the cash when my $2 Scratcher hits.
