Iran threatens to move nuclear material to secret sites to thwart Israeli strike
Axios ^ | 5/22/2025 | Barak Ravid

Iran threatened on Thursday to move its nuclear material to undeclared sites to protect it from a potential Israeli military strike.

-snip-

"Under conditions wherein threats made by the Zionist fanatics persist, the Islamic Republic of Iran shall be left with no recourse but to implement special measures for the protection of its nuclear facilities and materials, the relevant particulars of which shall thereafter be communicated to the IAEA," Araghchi wrote.

-snip-

The Israeli intelligence community has shifted just in the past few days from believing a nuclear deal was close to thinking talks could soon break down, Israeli sources say.

Hence the urgency behind Israel's preparations to strike fast if President Trump gives a green light.

A U.S. official told Axios the Trump administration is concerned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might make his move even without approval from Trump.

Trump spoke to Netanyahu on Thursday and they "agreed on the need to ensure that Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons," per the Israeli readout.

I don't know how that plays out in an Islamic theocratic society...

From what I gather, the devout Shiite Muslims in Iran are told not to think for themselves as far as religion. They're not to even read the Qu'ran -- the imams tell them what's in it. If what I've heard is correct, it may be that it's most easiest to control the masses who are devout. I've heard that some white collar working missionaries who've gone to Iran as engineers and accountants and such have done undercover work as Christian missionaries. When dealing with white collar Iranians, the missionaries say that sometimes the first tool they use is to convince the Muslims to read the Qu'ran on their own to see how violent it is. That opens them up to wanting something else, at which point they're told about Christ.

Needless to say, the mullahs are not happy with Persian Zoroastrian culture.

Seeing as you are dumping "Iranian," why not both?

"Zoroastrian culture."

Great point! But the people today are generally referred to as Persians.
But Zoroastrian is their culture, yes indeed.

I saw reports that the Israelis would need to send special forces underground to the Iranian nuke bunkers as part of the operation.

The folks I've met prefer to be called Persians. They hate the Mullahs and those that support them. One even thanked me for allowing him to experience the freedom and fun of the US.

Same. My Persian friends are also secular and not religious at all. they hate the Mullahs, and some of them even join Jews in counter-protests against Hamas-lovers on campuses. the UCLA counter-riot violence last year was one example where Persians and Israelis joined forces to beat the crap out of leftist pro-Pali students.

Tucker is gradually getting weirder. Shame, I really liked him.

It's all fake. 100% grifting for Qatari millions. All his finances are Turkish and Qatari. It will all come out pretty soon.

They already have them there, no question. Prior to the 1981 Osirik reactor bombing in Iraq, Israel had male Golani soldiers dressed in drag posing as cleaning staff, who helped on the ground and directed targets. They spoke perfect Farsi with local accents.

I’ve known a few too, but they got out before the shah fell. So they were already pretty well westernized.

If we decide to waste Iran’s nuclear facilities along with Israel, we should use nuclear bunker busters. They are much more effective than conventional bunker busters. They are called nuclear gravity bombs

Use our nukes to destroy Iran’s nukes. The nuclear detonation will take place far underground. So radioactive fallout with be close to zero.

B61-11 Nuclear Bomb
Type: Nuclear earth-penetrator (bunker buster)

Yield: Up to 400 kilotons

Deployment: Entered service in 1997; currently the only official nuclear earth-penetrator in the U.S. arsenal.

Function: The B61-11 is designed to burrow several meters into soil or softer rock before detonating, greatly increasing its effectiveness against underground targets compared to an airburst or surface detonation.

Effectiveness: Penetrating even a few meters underground allows a much smaller nuclear yield to destroy a deeply buried target, thanks to enhanced ground-shock coupling.

I know, but I thought you'd like it in the ol', 'Does "anal retentive" have a hyphen?' vain (yes, I meant that; it was a pun). Of course, that sentence should have had that iterant hyphen, but it wasn't there! The question is therefore solidly insoluble.

Iran is weird beyond belief. I've known many Iranians, and they were all normal and completely westernized.

All those I have ever met identified as PERSIANS. They HATED the muslims and the regime.
