DemocRATs seem to personally identify with criminals.
Crime and its criminals is the only way the RATS can keep their corrupt, thieving party afloat. Americans won’t vote for them. They need illegal alien voters and also have to stuff the ballot boxes with crap ballots or they wouldn’t have one seat in Congress.

A certain percentage of Democrats are happy to see criminals run free, because those criminals will most certainly vote D. These Democrats are evil.
But there is perhaps a larger percentage of everyday Democrats who reflexively have sympathy for the underdog. And they see criminals as underdogs, poor souls who just got a bad deal in life.
These Democrats are not evil. But they are stupid. Very, very stupid. They just can’t see that they are not defending lost sheep. They are defending vicious wolves.
I’d don’t know if even being mugged will change their minds.
