Steve Bannon:'President Trump will Serve a Third Term'-Financial Times
Financial Times on YouTube ^ | May 12, 2025 | Steve Bannon

Posted on 05/17/2025 11:58:07 PM PDT by tired&retired

Steve Bannon, architect of US president Donald Trump’s America First movement, spoke to Edward Luce, US national editor, at the FTWeekend festival in Washington DC.

The populist nationalist shared his views on everything from AI and alleging the election of American pope Leo XIV was ‘rigged’ to declaring the US would be unable to continue financing its deficits without tax rises for wealthy Americans and big cuts to the ‘deep state’.

Bannon causing more trouble. Trump’s starting to go along with it too. This will only make it harder to keep a Republican congress in 16 months.

A constitutional amendment against it was passed after FDR’s too many terms.

People gave Bannon a pass for beating the drums, along with grifters like Jenny Martin who came out of the woodwork for it, to get a million patriots to DC on J6.

I am surprised at the animus against Bannon here.

I don't think Pres. Trump would be where he is today without the indefatigable Bannon and all of his associates and circle of activists.

They all kept the movement on the front burner, kept it growing, and stayed positive while Trump was campaigning.

He totally deserves much of the credit for where we are today.

As far as a third term for Trump, it all hinges on proving the election was stolen!

This BTW is another issue that would be long dead and forgotten were it not for Bannon's irrepressible and tireless efforts (ongoing BTW) to pursue the issue when most people wanted to forget it.

Everyone here should watch his show.

And buy Powdermilk Biscuits or whatever else he is hawking on his show.

I can see Trump being healthy and sharp well into his nineties. His vitality is a marvel to behold. And as long as he is healthy, I can’t imagine him stepping down.

Absolutely, credit where credit is due. He even went to jail for Trump. There is nothing wrong with Bannon being enthusiastic. No different than everyone here believing that Trump can reverse everything done the last 50 years and create a new Utopia in only 2 years. It is just as unlikely and not based on logic or reality...

It is worse that spineless... That gives them an excuse. They are 100% part of the Conspiracy against this Republic.

Bannon is one of the Sam Adams of this new American revolution.

He is smart, experienced and his role is the guy that starts fights....not a gentleman.

He is baiting the Sodomite Baal worshipers to play their cards in a rage and hysterical panic.

Then, we maneuver and crush them.

You aren’t on the side of left-leaning amendment repeals? How would we ever get the Sixteenth repealed then, which imposes the second plank of communism on the USA (“a heavy progressive or graduated income tax”)? or the Seventeenth, which imposes a “democratic” Senate that eliminates the representation of state governments in DC with that of lobbies and special interests?

How'd you figure that?

Trump should NOT serve a 3rd term; he shouldn’t even try.

As much as I love Trump, I love the Constitution even more, and the way I read it, he’s not eligible for a 3rd term.

Where in the Constitution does it say you can’t run for a Third Term?

So an Amendment can be reversed, right?

But whether it’s Rubio or Vance.....he will be a “People’s President”...like Trump....and continue his work.

Trump is a populist. It will probably continue in some form with either Vance or Rubio, Trump's successor.

But after that, it's the end of Trump's populist movement.

The Republican Party will eventually revert to its traditional roots.
