Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese didn't need long to reignite their bitter rivalry after going at it on the court during a fiery WNBA season opener.
Tempers flared between the two women's basketball superstars when Reese took exception to Clark's hard foul with 4:38 left in the third quarter as the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky got their 2025 campaigns up and running.
After Reese grabbed an offensive rebound, Clark slapped the Sky forward across the arm, knocking the ball away and her arch-nemesis to the floor.
Angel, who was visibly furious, quickly jumped up and confronted Caitlin as Fever center Aliyah Boston jumped in between the two players.
Following a replay review, the referees upgraded the foul to a flagrant one and called double technical fouls on Boston and Reese. It was Clark's third personal foul.
During an in-game interview with ESPN, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year said there was 'nothing malicious' about the foul and called it a basketball play.

In the pecking order of sports worth watching, women’s basketball ranks toward the bottom near soccer, cricket, swimming, polo, golf, and competitive chess. Personally, men’s basketball sucks nowadays too since it’s just 3-pointers and rarely anything exciting or strategic like it was in the days of Dr. J.
With Caitlin Clark, the money-losing WNBA got a heartbeat.
That heartbeat is fading, especially as wokism is on the run and people realize the product is simply just not good.
Something tells me that the WNBA, realizing their days are numbered, have told their players to start adopting the Wrestling approach to entertainment.
In essence, the WNBA will fill the void of a Hulk Hogan / Rowdy Roddy Piper with NASCAR hybrid: people will tune in only to see a crash/fight that everyone knows is theater.

Clark is a generational female talent but I refuse to watch anything related to the NBA or NFL!!

You are absolutely correct. No one watched or cared about the WNBA, now we have fabricated drama.
We have a heel and a face. The heel is cheating and beating up the fan favorite. The ratings go up
Before the season ends Caitlin will be hit over the head with a folding chair.
