They have fabrics and finishes that can keep the uniforms clean. This is not the 1950’s.

I used to order scrubs for veterinarians and vet techs in a large bioresearch facility. White is the last color I would have chosen. Sometimes these had to be changed at least twice a day, and we did loads of laundry each day.

Without intensive attention, white would have looked horrible after a few washings, and we didn’t have the time or money to keep them looking good.

I can’t imagine keeping white uniforms looking good in a large modern hospital, without greatly increasing the cost and effort involved.

I wear scrubs all the time - ‘fabrics and finishes’ don’t do much for blood.

I don’t care for Starbucks so never go there, but if a dress code is part of the paycheck, then obey the rules, or forego the paycheck. I went to high school in the 60’s, and we had a dress code we had to adhere to. These people are spoiled brats.

It brings much joy to my heart when the left forms a circular firing squad. If they run out of bullets I will be pleased to supply them with the cartridge of their choice up to 300 Win Mag. I have no 50 caliber as I have no place to shoot that fine weapon, otherwise I would own one.

The 5.56 (.223) is very effective but really does not make a loud statement. 7.62-51 (3.08) makes a very loud statement worth of listening to. Then comes my favorite the 30.06 doing it well since since 1906 in many weapons of the United States Army.

If one wants to know about that caliber and the rifles and machine guns it was used in their is no finer place to go than the Springfield Armory in Connecticut. They have it all there from the revolutionary war to today’s combat rifles and machine guns.

Odd story about the 1903 Springfield number 1. It was carried in France by an American Soldier in WWI. I think the sixties or late seventies the soldier visited the Springfield Armory. He mentioned to the curator that he carried #1 in France. When #1 came back to the armory after WWI for refurbishing along with million others it was pulled for the museum. The curator asked the old man if wanted to see it? He did. He said, “It looks the same but I got old.” That rifle has its own display case their.

My favorite display is that of the MI-Garands. Probably the best semi-automatic battle rifle ever. In that display are all the prototypes made by John C Garand until he perfected his design and the US Army accepted it and put it into production. Number one is there. Each millionth production was gifted to John C Garand. Upon his death he gifted them all to the museum. I wonder how many have stood in front of that display and thought, “Could I take #1 home just one day to the range and shoot it?”

I go to Starbucks daily (purely due to convenience and habit NOT because I think the coffee is the best or anything) and I like some of the changes taking place of late.

Honestly, I never paid attention to their dess code.

I assume that the reason for the dress code is that a good number of Starbucks employees are unable to make themselves appear presentable.

I had Peace Officer status as a Correctional Officer, then Sergeant with NY State’s Department of Corrections for 25 years. It was a paramilitary organization. The uniform dress code was strictly adhered to, even being required to wear your uniform hat whenever you were outdoors. As we were told when we took the job, the uniform is part of the paycheck.

Good. I wouldn’t patronize Starbucks under any circumstances because that company is Marxist to the core. And the coffee is terrible. McDonald’s java is much superior and much less expensive.

I think dress codes in schools are a good idea for a lot of reasons.

I hope a lot of uniforms and dress codes come back, that includes some sort of uniformity among hospital staff of various categories, and schools most certainly.

Schools badly need uniforms and single sex schools

And teachers who actually know something about the subject matter of the courses they’re supposed to be teaching.

“…can survive without Starbucks coffee.”

.

I’ve managed to survive for decades without their nasty brew that they call coffee.
If I am out traveling and my thermos is empty and cannot wait to get home
in order to brew some Don Francisco Kona, then a trip to Rook is in order, to get a cup of New Orleans style cold brew with coconut milk. Mmmm….

You’re one person; not a huge facility taking care of hundreds of employees who are exposed to bodily secretions, chemicals, etc., every day.

"I think dress codes in schools are a good idea for a lot of reasons."

I don't understand why they ever lowered the standards for dress in schools. As a girl in high school in the 60's, we couldn't wear slacks or culottes. Dresses or skirts with blouses or sweaters were required, and all skirts had to be below the knee. Boys had to wear slacks, no jeans, no tee shirts, and the shirt sleeves could not be rolled up. Every male teacher wore a shirt and tie, and every female teacher wore a dress, or skirt with blouse or sweater. Most jobs at that time required you to dress appropriately anyway, so it was no big deal adhering to a dress code in school.

No thank you. People hide well behind costumes and then after something untoward happens, everyone stands there saying "How could we have known?"

Let people show the world exactly who they are.

I don’t have a problem with girls wearing pants or pantsuits; they seem modest compared to some of the ‘mini skirts’ of my high school days.

But I think having everyone dress the same solves a lot of unnecessary distractions that take place in schools.
