The homeowners/apt owners get FULL RENT PRICE from government and a little bit from the occupant. THEY are the ones who will scream. Without the Section 8 system, they would be looking for renters and lowering prices... WIN WIN for working people.
Those owners will get no rental payments and renters that cannot be kicked out.
Belive me I know some of these landlords. They get the high rents because of the trashed apartments by people who have no consequences....of any color.
As a responsible small landlord, we have a multi next to our completely beautifully rehabbed townhouses. This guy rents to ANYONE. It’s a known drug house. We only rent to quality tenants even it goes empty for 6 months.
Yes, we’re hoping the multi will burn down as the townhouses almost did.
