Fun fact: here in Commiefornia, dishwashers make 20 dollars an hour plus tips. La Jolla is a pretty nice place. She may have been making well over that. Unless she was being paid under the table.

That would seem to point to two possibilities:

1. She was using a stolen S.S.#, which is a federal crime, or
2. She was using no S.S.# at all, in which case she is also guilty of fraud and tax evasion.

Who tips them?
I did f&b work for over a dozen years and never heard of tipping the dishwasher. Bartender, busboy, hostess, yes, but not the dishwasher.

Is this something new?
