I believe The Duel was a Hollywood movie, not TV.
It was Spielberg’s first movie.
Produced by Universal Television, Duel originally aired as a part of the ABC Movie of the Week series on November 13, 1971. It later received an international theatrical release by Universal Pictures in an extended version featuring scenes shot after the film’s original TV broadcast.
Bridge of Spies
Battleship
Second Hand Lions
Romantic Comedy: It Happened One Night, Father of the Bride (Tracy), The More the Merrier
Romance: Gone with the Wind, The Quiet Man, Random Harvest, My Fair Lady
Western: The Searchers, Stagecoach, Once Upon a Time in the West, Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven
War: Lawrence of Arabia, Casablanca, Mrs. Miniver, The Longest Day, Patton, Band of Brothers series, Sahara (Bogart)
Detective: Murder on the Orient Express (Finney), The Thin Man, Chinatown, Sherlock series, The Cheap Detective
Fantasy: Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars: A New Hope, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Groundhog Day
Faith: It's a Wonderful Life, The Chosen series, The Pilgrim's Progress, Risen
Oh. You’re right. It DID first come out on TV

It has since been recognized as an influential cult classic and one of the greatest films ever made for television.
The original “The Producers”.
I was an extra in this Spielberg movie.

But I ended up on the cutting room floor.
It was TV first. Then briefly run in theaters with some additional footage to pad it a little.
I am odd. And you knew that!
I like thoughtful films from Babbettes Feast to the inspector Morse series. Liked the first 4 seasons of MadMen. Liked MARGIN, JOSEY WALES, INDEPENDENCE DAY corny but ok, Sopranos, CHRISTMAS π IN CONNECTICUT, FOYLES WAR.
I guess i like high production values and great character development. I like quirky. Like PRIMER, and occasional well done romance like MOONSTRUCK. Old films like NIAGRA, SINGING IN THE RAIN, DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND set me happy. My happy time period is from the 40s through the 90s
I dislike suspense and horror.
I dislike most comedy and all slapstick. Thoughtful war films and good cowboy films like the Searchers.
Confused?
So am I. Lol

Must be nice to be able to call up the film you want.
O’Toole and the guy from Perfect Strangers?
Ava could have ruined a man, if he was lucky.
For great classic drama Gone With the Wind and The Ten Commandments. Then in no particular order; Hoosiers, Memphis Belle, Grand Prix, the original Midway, the original Indiana Jones, Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered Country and Holy Grail. And my greatest of all times, Smokey and the Bandit. Love that movie.
Forgot Tombstone, Top Gun and Silverado.
And she played both sides
Two more. Braveheart and Last of the Mohicans. Blue Brothers is also good, but probably doesn’t break into the best category.
“KAAAAAAAAAAAAANH”
“I don’t like to lose”.
It was a TV movie.
