Ukrainian President Zelensky and the leaders of several NATO countries spoke on Saturday with President Trump and stressed they are ready for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire starting Monday, Ukraine's foreign minister said.

Trump called for a 30-day ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war earlier this week. While Ukraine agreed, the Kremlin hasn't given a clear answer so far.

The leaders of France, U.K., Germany and Poland visited Kyiv on Saturday and met with Zelensky to discuss the ceasefire plan.
At the end of the meeting Zelensky and the European leaders called Trump and briefed him on their position.
"Ukraine and all allies are ready for a full unconditional ceasefire on land, air, and at sea for at least 30 days starting already on Monday," said Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine's foreign minister.

Two sources with knowledge of the 15-minute call said Zelensky and the European leaders told Trump that if a ceasefire is agreed upon, Ukraine is ready to begin direct peace talks with Russia.
They stressed to Trump that if Putin refuses the 30-day ceasefire, European countries will impose new sanctions on Russia, the sources said.
"Trump seemed satisfied to see Ukraine embracing the ceasefire and accepting direct negotiations with Russia," one source said.
The second source said Trump was glad to hear they all back his proposal. "We're waiting for Russia's move now," the source said.

There is no national interest in Ukraine until war ends and the minerals deal starts.
And, quickest way to end it is to cutoff all military aid to Ukraine.
You need to have a serious talk with Medvedev about his drinking problem.
Did I say I liked blowing stuff up?
Why so pedantic? Did someone drop a house on your mom?
Why do you always pass over Russia's violations of the Minks accords?
Did you somehow forget about the 3 years+ that Russia has been bombing Ukrainian cities?
Did you somehow forget about the 3 years+ that Russia has been bombing Ukrainian cities?
Nope, have perfectly good memories of that.
You seem to not grasp that the Ukraine is losing and they need to cut a peace agreement on the best terms that they can muster ASAP because their negotiating position gets worse on a daily basis.
Who is to blame and who did what to who in the past is not relevant - all that is relevant is how to respond to the difficult situation the the Ukraine finds itself in at this moment
Instead of embracing peace negotiations , Zelensky and his foreign backers do everything they can to derail any peace talks and to goad Russia into attacks.
Except that they are not. They have held the line for over two years with the Russians obtaining only limited success after the first onrush of the invasion. You also are ignoring Russia's "peace" terms. They go way beyond just holding on to the land already conquered. Russia is demanding what would be nothing less than total surrender. Russia has given Ukraine only two choices: fight on or surrender and the loss of the independence of their country.
Guess we are going to find out about how much capability Russia has and if Ukraine is winning or losing in the near future.
The reality check is going to be rather unhappy for all sides, but my take is that Russia has the resources to control the battle field and defeat the Ukrainian opposition.
The Ukrainian troops will put up a good fight and it will cost the Russians and Ukrainians heavy losses but in the end the Russians will win. If the Russians go all out and make a breakout, it could end quickly.
Sadly, we lost an opportunity to DeNazify Ukraine back then,
We could have Tried and Executed those Uke Nazis back then and continued to present day.
No Uke Nazis, no problem in Ukraine.
” They snubbed the Russians at all VE Day events, and hotels a NATO leader insult event on victory day.”
Having a separate Victory Day was a Stalin insult to the Western Allies that Russia kept going with. The West is right not to attend it.
Bullcrap.
Both parties to hostilities are running out of other people’s money.
Kinda hard to continue when that happens.
When you support American tax dollars going to Ukraine for a war that isn't our business, you aren't very fiscally conservative. But thanks for admitting you are a libertarian. That explains so much.
What is bullcrap? That Stalin and the Soviets ran a smear campaign against the Western Allies for decades? That they even accused us of collaborating with the Nazis when it was them doing it from the get-go? That they said we weren’t serious about fighting the Nazis and just wanted the Soviet Union to do all the fighting?
You are quoting facts not in evidence.
You are a Russian sock puppet with Putin’s smeg on your chin.
See how that works?
I knew it! You sound exactly like a libertarian (with a heavy dose of interventionism)
I had no idea we were in court?
