Face The Music is my favorite ELO album.

Nightrider, Poker, One Summer Dream should have been huge songs for them.

Never knew Zepellin and Def Leopard were British. The Beatles though should be number 1. There’s a lot of revisionism about them.

Anyone who dismisses The Beatles, is just being a contrarian.

Oh yeah...forgot all about Pink Floyd. I’d put them above the Stones as well.

The verses of Hung Up On A Dream are almost interchangeable with A Day In The Life. I’d still like to see that movie, and the Zeppelin one.

When I think of the 90s, this is IMHO the best song, Thom’s vocals are fantastic.

ELP or The Moody Blues should be 5.

Yeah, or possibly Tull.

My choices for the five greatest British bands, with a representative recording for each one:
  1. Bert Firman & His Carlton Hotel Dance Orchestra
    Charleston Charley

  2. Al Benny's Broadway Boys
    Blue Hills of Pasadena

  3. Bert Ambrose & His Orchestra
The Clouds Will Soon Roll By

  4. Ray Noble & His New Mayfair Orchestra
Love Is the Sweetest Thing (the first British recording to reach #1 in the US--and one of the greatest songs to come out of the UK)

  5. Roy Fox & His Band
    Under a Blanket of Blue
