Shocking CCTV footage from a factory in China shows a humanoid robot turning erratic and attacking its surroundings in what many online have described as a scene straight out of a dystopian film
The robot, suspended from a small crane-like apparatus, appears to wake up from its slumber and starting violently thrash its arms, swiping the air with increasing aggression.
During the outburst, the machine suddenly lunges at a man seated at a nearby workstation, forcing him to duck for cover, while another individual standing behind the robot quickly retreats.

The robot repeatedly raises its arms and slams them down in a disturbing display of mechanical fury, the pace and force of the movements escalating rapidly.
Attempting to advance despite its restraints, the robot thrashes against the crane, knocking over equipment and scattering items from a desk.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
The robot is not intentionally doing anything.
we already have driverless cars (a sort of Uber called Waymo) where i am…hope one doesn’t have road rage.
Yeah, and China posted videos of people dropping dead in the streets during Covid. Pfft... I trust nothing coming out of China.
Could be CGI. There were some guys who parodied Boston Dynamic tests. They would push the robot over or knock it down, just like the Boston Dynamic tests, but the robot would eventually snap and try and kill its creators when it had enough.

Heck, I do that all the time.
No no no. That’s the latest K Pop dance.
The artist is notable, but I don't even remember what was being advertised. Still, the image of an innocent scientist turning his back on his beloved creation is sooo Gahan Wilson.
I haven't found this image in any Wilson collection. I presume that it's because it was advertising in now-defunct niche specialty media. Since I just now pulled my copy out of desk files that I hadn't touched in years and scanned it into an image site, this is probably the first time this piece of Gahan Wilson art has been seen in many decades.

,,, and this is how it performs without fentanyl.
Look like a tin a man.
Note to self: Nix idea of driverless chainsaw.
Now imagine self driving cars and trucks.
All named Christine...
I’ve seen videos of driverless cars viciously attack and run over people. If only they had been restrained by a parking brake or something.
#8 here is a cleaner copy. I could not find who drew it.

Agree it’s CGI. Looks fake.
Sounds to me like typical “gain of function” research out of China! Notice that the specific functional gain was likely what was engineered from the get-go! (And just wait til our “functional gain” guy & his fellow homey boys bust out of their home-boy lab and begin to circulate with their Wuhan neighbors; and eventually the world at-large!)
Bkmk
ComputerWorld was printed front and back on newsprint, which is why my copy had bleedthrough from the other side.

I got suckered by China with videos showing the trucks spewing out “disinfectant” as they traveled down the streets. It amazed me that they would have something like that. It amazed me so much to be unlikely and I did more research.
Turns out they DO have those trucks - but they spew out water vapor. They use it to trap some of the particulates in their polluted air so it falls to the ground rather than suspended in air. I have no idea how well it works, but it must do something. Or at least it lets the peons in the street believe that their government is doing something.
On August 29, 1997 at 2:14 a.m. it becomes self-aware....
In a panic, they try to shut it down....
It launches the nuclear missiles at the targets in Russia
