Lombard street is more straight than PBS.
NPR is subtle with their propaganda. I believe the laid back tone of their commentators is deliberate. I have a brother in law who is an otherwise intelligent guy. He is an avid reader, reading a minimum of one book a week. He immigrated here from Northern Europe when he was 11. He is now 78. He listens exclusively to NPR, and watches CBS news. He and my sister in law went full vaccine during C19. If you name a left wing g talking point, he believes it. He voted for Trump in 2016, but now thinks Trump is the devil incarnate and anyone affiliated with him are idiots. He is very vocal about it. He gets noticeably angry if you challenge him on any of those issues. I now try to avoid any political discourse with him. Not because I don’t have the receipts, but I do love him and upsetting him isn’t worth it.
Bottom line, is I truly believe he is a victim of lo g term brainwashing. It’s pretty sad.

Back before I retired I enjoyed listening to NPR on my commute for laughs. When I was in my 20’s they sounded so old and wise in their delivery, but as I aged they just sounded stupid.
I listened to the Celtic Music Show “Shamrock and Thistle” on NPR back in the 90s.
And he said that with a straight face?!
Brooks sold out decades ago. It’s almost surprising that it took as long as it did for PBS to find and promote him.

Sometimes I think for a day/month/year/whatever we should just “do unto them as they have done unto us” while we are in control. Turn PBS and NPR into over-the-top MAGA-bullhorn propaganda outlets the same as they’ve been Deep State propaganda outlets. Turn schools into non-stop monotheistic/free market/heterosexual advocacy sites the same as they have been atheistic/socialistic/deviant advocacy sites. Fire and censor anyone in government and schools who doesn’t toe a MAGA line the same that dissidents from the Deep State have been culled out. And so on down the line in the military, alphabet agencies and so on. And then maybe they’d begin to get it and begin to appreciate limited government a bit more.
