Funny you should ask - just started (re) reading The Odyssey, seeing it's been about 50+ years since I read it the first time (under duress).

So far, I'm not loving it.

But the only book I've ever started and never finished was Finnegan's Wake. Just awful.

I’ve read lots of books by the ancients and one of the first things I learned was to get a large unabridged dictionary to looks up all the unusual words. today’s net will even give you the the correct pronunciation.
