Even after Pete Rose’s passing, Rob Manfred still finds himself continually talking about the legendary career Rose had and his controversial ban. When Donald Trump was re-elected, many began to realize that the ban could soon come to an end, which could put Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame. Manfred has been very quiet on the topic, but he did recently sit down with the president of the United States.
Rob Manfred Remains Quiet on Pete Rose’s Status
At the age of 83, Pete Rose passed away last September. Rose was a 17-time All-Star and holds more records than anyone can imagine. Leading the MLB in hits, games played, at-bats, singles, and outs, Rose is a three-time World Series champion to go along with numerous other awards

Pete Rose was an ass-home and a giant douche but he was one of the great players of all time. Your personality doesn’t get you in or prevent you from the HoF. Let him in!
Punishment should fit the crime.
If anyone DESERVES/EARNED the right to be in the hall of fame its Charley Hustle.
Who did he murder? Who did he rape? In baseball, he is a HERO.
The pinnacle of a baseball career is to be voted into the hall of fame. Its not based on your “virtue” but your abilities and accomplishments over your career.
Do we want to look into the personal histories of all hall of famers to see who we should throw out?
Romans 3:23 NIV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Doesn’t matter if he gets pardoned. He did the deed. Of course I guess his lifetime ban is now done. So they can put him in the Hall, but his display should contain the report. It’s part of his story, and the story of baseball. He broke the BIG RULE, that was posted next to the phone he used sometimes to break the freaking rule.
I think he served his lifetime ban and was denied witnessing and experiencing being elected. Debt paid. Same with Joe Jackson.
Steroid guys... No.
When you bet on the game that’s a problem. It cheapens the game.
And it was not a personal issue. He was betting on his “day job”, so to speak.
Winner Winner, chicken dinner !
Rose didn’t bet on baseball as a player. He is Mr 4000 and should be in the hall
What about as a manager?
He bet on games as a Manager and every day he was in the clubhouse saw the warnings against betting on baseball.
They didn’t do what Rose did… namely betting on baseball which is the biggest no the game has. Not only did he bet on games, he bet on games his team was playing in, and even after being caught red handed, he lied about it for 20 years before finally admitting the truth.
Rose still has all his records… he’s in the record books. But he does not deserve the honor of the Hall of Fame.
did he bet FOR his team or AGAINST them?
Income tax evasion. Rose plead guilty in 1990.
The guy was a good baseball player, but he was a self centered arrogant creep who didn’t give a single damn about anyone else. If you watched the 1970 All Star game, you would understand that.
LOL. You want to bet on that? ;~)
At first Rose said he only bet on other games. Then it came out that he bet on Reds games while he was player/manager. Then he said he always bet on the Reds winning. Then his bookie said that wasn’t true. Who to believe? I’ll take the bookie because I know Rose was a degenerate liar.
So, what other rules can players break and still be rewarded?
We need to know so everyone understands how this works.
Shohei Ohtani is still in the league so Pete should be in the HOF by now.
I used to agree with you. But sports gambling is legal now.
His hall of fame award is as player not manager.
His hall of fame award is as player not manager.
I appreciate the humor. But he was never accused of that
