McCarthy was a snake, even worse than the snake Paul Ryan. He inserted himself into primary battles that cost seats in the House because the strong R candidate would have been unlikely to support him for Speaker. Karoline Leavitt was one of those candidates that McCarthy failed to support. She ultimately won her primary but the dragging of her name through the Republican mud probably cost her the seat. McCarthy was all about McCarthy and wasn’t a Trump fan. Good riddance to him.

Prez Trump is attempting to serve in the role of peace negotiator - appear as neutral as practical. I wonder if he should have let the issue of the minerals slide; of course he hoped to regain some of the tens of billions of dollars that the Autopen Administration threw away in the process.
While I wouldn't want Putin as my lawyer or financial advisor, I don't want anything to do at all with Zelensky, an original human snake. He is grinding a personal vendetta against Putin while heaving tens of thousands of his countrymen into the fire seemingly with no compassion or practical purpose in mind.
He has screwed Trump and the U.S. repeatedly, and came to D.C. a few weeks back in utter contempt for Trump and his administration. I suspect that he was led into such a disastrous attitude by the EU, which were conditioned to think similarly by the Autopen Administration.
I really suspect that the only way to end that war now is for the Ukrainian people to run Zelensky out of town on a rail. Ukraine is going to have to yield the Crimea to The Bear and Putin himself may have to answer to his people.
So true! ...and yet, even after McCarthy's ouster, Trump maintained a relationship with him. As I said, McCarthy knew how to use power - yes, to his own advantage. Spkr Johnson knows how to greet and placate, but seems to eschew manipulating the power he is given.
As I have said, the Dems say that Johnson is the best GOP Speaker that they have ever had - - - and Johnson extending an olive branch consistently while the Dems are plotting to overthrow the Republic!!!
