Wonky news station, but a few facts.
Musk Confirmed It, We’re In Serious Trouble
{Speaker} Johnson was caught in a political crossfire, with the Freedom Caucus pushing for deeper cuts to offset $4 trillion in planned tax reductions, while centrist Republicans, as Axios reported on April 16, 2025, feared the backlash of trimming programs.Faced with this divide, Johnson and his RINO allies chose inaction, leaving Musk’s recommendations on the table and the nation’s taxpayers to bear the cost of unchecked spending.
By May 2025, the outcome was undeniable: government spending was poised to break every previous record, defying Musk’s best efforts. His vision of a leaner, more efficient government had been thwarted by Washington’s entrenched powers. In a candid CNBC interview this week, Musk didn’t mince words. “I’ve done what I can,” he told host David Faber, his tone reflecting deep disappointment. “The system is too broken to fix from the outside.” With that, Musk announced he was stepping away from DOGE to refocus on Tesla and SpaceX, leaving behind a political arena where he’d been attacked at every turn.
Where is Prez Trump in all of this carnival side show? âť“ So far: NO SHOW! âť—
I suspect that Prez Trump thinks that the fastest way to overcome inflation is to promote vigorous economic growth - at all costs. If so, he should tell us his views.
I need convincing! I don't think that Elon Musk is giving it any more thought... it is a lost cause! Just walk away!
“I suspect that Prez Trump thinks that the fastest way to overcome inflation is to promote vigorous economic growth - at all costs. If so, he should tell us his views.”
He has. MANY times.
in the not too distant future...MAGA will go the way of the TEA party...
Sadly, I think you might be right. Certainly, none (or very few) of the critters in either chamber really care about America any more. We are a third world nation already, it appears - living off the fruits of the labor of generations past.
MAGA, in many ways, IS the Tea Party. Trump harnessed the unanswered calls of us when he first ran, and rekindled the movement under a different name. Unfortunately, the self-serving SOBs in the uniparty really didn’t listen.
Sounds like the author is in the black pill distribution business. He / she / it appears to be trying his / her / its level best to get everyone to t throw up their hands and say “I quit! It’s TOOOOOOOO LAAAAAAATE! Dooooooom! Glooooooom! Game over, man! GAME OVER!!! Etc., etc.”
That is just the best picture ever. I wonder if it was his cat or just some random neighborhood cat. “It’s okay; calm down. I will press on you.”
I dunno; that's a head-scratcher. Is it possible that the "by July 4" is said for optics reasons because of Americans' attachment to Independence Day?
OK - summarize it for me, please. Explain why Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, is wrong in thinking that it is a disaster.
I think the trade deals, increase in manufacturing capacity, and tax breaks will yield higher revenue into the Treasury. But, what happened to the Trillons spent on Green New Scam with nothing to show for it, the billions shot on broadband, billions shot on charging stations, and why can’t that all be clawed back? Why are we spending at pandemic levels and where is all that money going? Don’t tell me we have nothing to cut.
“it is a disaster”
What is “it”? Please provide a quote or link.
I already have:

“I already have:”
No musk quotes in your link ...
Well stated! The Deep State is remaining supreme, the American people are still being delivered into slavery! Our great grandchildren are already hopelessly in debt.
we-re-in-serious-trouble
I understand if you can't take on the challenge of explaining Prez Trump's present strategy of massive spending wastes... Why don't you provide some links? . . .
OH! You BAD!
Actually, he did call twice - once to voice mail, then the second time, Dilbert answered. Scott was describing it on his show.
