A lot of X videos show cars stopped by police for various reasons where the drivers says they don't have to have a driver's license. Some say they are traveling not driving or something similar. They might add 'it's common law that you can drive without a license.
Besides the reason for being stopped like being drunk or speeding, and even besides being uncooperative and belligerent cause they might have drugs on them, are they right about not being required to have a driver's license?
I"m in Oklahoma and I thought it was widely known that you better have your license and registration on you as well as proof of insurance if you're pulled over.
Maybe the laws changed or differ from state to state.
Are these 'travelers' without a license right? Much of the time they don't want to give their name or other info that would be included on a license. Usually if your watching the video on X their claim isn't doing them any good since they're getting arrested.
LOL...No...not because he didn’t think he needed one, but because he thought he had one...and he didn’t!
He was arrested because the license plate fell off of his car...and it was later recovered IIRC.
But the cop stopped him because he had no plate.
I have long thought he was set up. The muslims he was working with set him up in that fashion by removing the screws, so as he drove, it fell off.
I forgot about “Commercial” or traveling in Commerce which they claim since they are not “traveling in Commerce”, they don’t need to follow the traffic/insurance laws because those are ONLY for those “traveling in Commerce”.
Also “jurisdiction”. They always claim that the courts don’t have “jurisdiction” over them so their cases should be dismissed. THIS NEVER WORKS!
Its really a “mental” thing. They LOVE to go to court and waste the court’s time. Appeals, delays, continuances, discovery claims, switching between free appointed lawyers to defending themselves and back again just to DELAY a case with nothing but a small fine and no points. And we haven’t even mentioned the FAKE “Moorish” contingent.
I watched some youtube vids about these “sovereign citizens” who get stopped and proceed to lecture the police. Nobody gets hurt and it can be entertaining — though I wouldn’t want to be either the cop or the sov cit.

Since these SOV-CITS get their talking points from the internet, it would be logical for them to also watch these court hearings where the SOV-CIT batting average is ZERO.
But since SOV-CITS are not logical, going beyond finding what tickles their ears is not possible.
We all need to keep in mind that the SOV-CITS waste many hours of the court’s time each year and it is WE THE TAXPAYERS who end up paying the bill for this wasted judicial time.

I’ve been watching some of those videos too and am appalled at the number of people caught on the road with no license, no valid license, no insurance, no or expired registration, and so many who don’t even carry ID on them?

And they also tell the Judge that they have a job interview tomorrow, their grandmother died 2 months ago, they have signed up for in-patient drug treatment, or their current girlfriend is pregnant with his 8th chld.

If you’re driving without a license you need a good beating. and your car confiscated. I like watching these dolts get dragged out through a broken window.
Driving is a privilege, not a right.
If you assault and batter a Citizen, you deserve prison and personal civil liability. If you do so as a public servant, you deserve to never again be a public servant, even after you have been let out of prison.
Only a real sicko pervert freak who needs to be locked up in a mental institution would enjoy watching public servants assault and batter Citizens.
Indeed. I knew a couple or three of them back in the early 1990s ... one by one they all ended up in prison. I told them at the time that even if they were right (which I doubted), that wouldn't do any good when the goons with MP-5s showed up on their front porch at oh-dark-thirty.

The law says you need a license to drive on public roads and you aren’t allowed to make up your own rules.
Federal income tax is the same.
My favorite was the Sov who made a fake video of him in court, outwitting the judge and walking free.
The court was in a strip mall.
Of course the standard SovCit response is that driving an 18 wheeler is clearly "operating in commerce" and so naturally should have to have a license. :-)

On the Cops shows it is high comedy when one of these “sovereign citizen” folks are also drunk.
They then mangle their arguments and you get word salad that would make Kamala proud.

There are limits even to that.
If you ride a horse down the Interstate you will be arrested.
Likewise if you stumble around drunk in the middle of the road most likely the cops will take you off to jail to sober up overnight.
How else can you travel without travelling on roads and sidewalks? Whomever presents a proper case of there being a difference between being a traveller or a driver is correct. The laws are written to support this, strictly interpreted.
It is crazy to the point of now you need identification to walk to work. If a policeman stops you and questions you, and you have no legal ID, you can be arrested. It happens all the time. It is a way for governments to make money. If they wanted safe roads, they wouldn’t give licenses or sell cars to non-citizens.
How can you travel without using public roads? I had a nephew get a DUI while riding his bicycle. He was on a sidewalk going home, OH and he didn’t have a DL yet. He was not over the limit, never tested, but he smelled of beer. People have been given DUI’s riding a Horse home. Does he need a DL and insurance? Well he was cited for the same.
I carry a license because without it I go to jail, but I could clearly prove I don’t need it to a neutral authority. That would NEVER be Judge who works for the same people who make the rules.

It is a little more complicated than that—and may vary by state as well.
But—in most state the cops have a right to stop you and ask you for identification. If you do not have it with you they will ask you your name and maybe your social security number. Then they will check on their computers and see if they can verify that with your physical description/photo.
If those check out—and there are no other issues such as outstanding warrants—they will release you.
