The latest update to Windows 11 is a mess.

The average person won’t know how to navigate all the things one would have to do to correct errors that occur with their personal computers. My two year old laptop has been deemed obsolete because the newest update isn’t compatible. Well, there is more to it than that, but that’s about the situation in a nutshell.

A lot of people know this too. The boards are full of people calling out MS on this.

Nadella is a dismal failure. He’s essentially turned MSFT into a public utility. This seems to be the way.

Boy, was it ever. I thought about rolling back and just freezing everything.

“My two year old laptop has been deemed obsolete because the newest update isn’t compatible.”

They threw away your private property as if it belonged to them to throw away if they like. This arrogance is exactly why I left MS almost ten years ago now. They think they perpetually own your machine to do as they like not you.

I cannot fathom why this would not highly offend folks and make them draw the line to ditch MS with a passion in mass. There are alternatives that are absolutely just as good that allow you to take it back from MS and actually truly own your own machine again.

My employer pushed out a Windows 11 update yesterday. So far, no harm. I got a layoff notice on Monday morning, so if they really screwed it up, I won't have to live with it for very long.

I think I’ll stick with Windows 10. It’s worked fine for me for years.
