A firefighter paramedic in Missouri was killed in the line of duty on Sunday after he was allegedly stabbed in the back of an ambulance while transporting a patient to the hospital.
Kansas City Fire Department Fire Medic Graham Hoffman, 29, died on Sunday a few hours after he was stabbed in the chest by a patient being taken to the hospital following a routine medical call from police, the city of Kansas City said in a news release.
Hoffman’s partner “initiated a crew emergency” after the stabbing and additional fire and police units responded to the scene, the city said.
He was taken to North Kansas City Hospital, where he died in the Intensive Care Unit despite “heroic efforts” from KCFD paramedics while taking him to the hospital and staff in the Emergency Room and surgery.
“His KCFD ambulance was an essential lifesaving tool,” the Missouri Division of Fire Safety posted on Facebook. “But early this morning, Hoffman’s ambulance became a crime scene and Hoffman a victim of an unfathomable crime – allegedly stabbed to death by a patient he was treating.”
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said Hoffman displayed the city’s “finest quality” through his “selfless service for others.”

Why is that almost always the case? What is it in their culture that makes them behave that way? Here's someone literally saving their life, but they think they deserve to die. It's not racist go ask these questions. It's trying to find out why they behave that way.
This is a horrible situation but its not as uncommon as people may think. Paramedics deal with violent people, people out of their minds on drugs, violently mentally ill people, all the time. In some ways its worse than being a cop because you have to be close to the patient to treat them and you are focused on treating them rather than safety. And then all the sudden they get violent. Paramedics deserve a lot of praise and respect for the work that they do.
I am truly starting to wonder if maybe there is a different species of human walking this earth that is undetectable except for at the molecular level. Or it’s spiritual and the restrainer is being removed from this Earth. At any rate my “love” for humanity sometimes feels as if it’s growing cold, as I’m sure is the same for many others, which was foretold.
I still remember the 1960s when police and medical personnel would NOT go into a ghetto area of big US cities as it was too dangerous.
A major US magazine(LIFE or LOOK) back around 1968 said the police believed “It was just N***ers cutting up!” and stayed away.

This is the real reparations. Now they’re allowed to do whatever they want to whitey and get away with it.
Agree, more and more I just turn everything off. Work the place with our tractor. Work on the barn, and just unplug from the world. We’re old. Life has been good and God has taken care of us. The younger generations are making their choices. I don’t care what they do. I mean I care, but it is in God’s hands.
This sort of thing happens a lot for a weird reason.
One of the few drugs that might save life in an opioid overdose is Naltrexone. And it has a rapid effect in blocking the opioid. So one second they are on death’s door, and the next they are “pissed off” at whoever broke their high.
They will swing their fists, they will jump off their gurney and run for the door, they will stab or bash. It is a major problem for ER workers. Often they are so close to dying, they don’t think they have time to strap them down.

Yeah, photos weren’t necessary as most of us here already knew - but are in case there is someone out there who still doesn’t get it - your guard must be up at all times.

Defense will be mental illness, of course, and perp will be sent to a mental health facility and then quietly released.

(10b) Stay out of heavily black neighborhoods.
(10c) If planning a trip to a beach or amusement park at some date, find out whether it is likely to be swamped with blacks on that date (neglect of that one got me the closest I have ever gotten to death by gunshot).
(10d) Do not attend events likely to draw a lot of blacks.
(10e) If you are at some public event at which the number of blacks suddenly swells, leave as quickly as possible.
