We used to have that problem with crows with our basement windows. They never broke the glass, fortunately, we did have to block the windows so the birds did not see their reflections.

Hear, hear.

We have a sapsucker around here and it’s about destroyed a beautiful, young mountain ash. We had to wrap chicken wire around the trunk and put bird netting over the top.

And they’re supposed to be *protected* so options in dealing with them are few.

The pesky two-month mystery behind at least 25 punctured and shattered sideview mirrors and windshields in Rockport was recently cracked

I think Rockport is the town.

Is it really that he thinks what he sees in the mirror are mating rivals or is he just so ugly that he has to smash every mirror he sees?

This mirror had cracks in it but Woody Woodpecker was blowing chunks out of it.

Hasn't broken any whole mirrors but I still do this with all.

Looks really silly on the little Ford Focus but whatever works. We've had 2-3 of these Woody Woodpeckers show up in 12 years so I'm not going to stress over it.

Wow, that’s a lot of damage, but a very creative solution.

We put plastic bags over our side mirrors if they are going to sit outside.
