It’s just a stock tick photo from their archives.

Deer Ticks have a white spot on their back, IIRC............

On the West Coast, the Western Black-Legged Tick is the carrier. Red abdomen, black legs.

Deer ticks are tiny. I detected one crawling on my chest, put it in closed container with a wet paper towel and took it to a Dermatologist’s scheduled appointment. They “processed” it and confirmed its identification.

As a result of the appointment, they told me to come right back to have a suspected—but unrelated—melanoma removed in two days. They also charged me for the laboratory’s dentification!

So upon returning two days later, I found a SECOND deer tick crawling across my chest.

I’m certain they’d made the automobile trip from New Hampshire to Florida days earlier.

A deer tick bite was suspected by a NH doctor, with an ER trip a few days later to
confirm a positive.

So I have THAT being held over my head indefinitely.
