Anyone wager that it was not an “official” service animal.
I’ll bet you a quarter.
I have been seeing a lot more “service dogs” around over the past few years. I have a feeling they are coming from places like this:

Probably just an Amish dog going to a dog fight in TX.
That was my very first thought.
Lots of people are faking having legitimate service dogs, some going as far as buying them official looking gear to wear.
You are onto something. My evil sister in Hyannis, Massachusetts pretends her small dog is a service animal and got an official to okay that. I’m sure a lot of other phonies get away with it. She claims it is an emotional support dog.
Amusing blog about the scams. Law in CA against phony ones.
California Penal Code 365.7 (a) against fraudulently misrepresenting animals.

“Emotional support dog”, real service dog
I doubt the media knows the difference
$5 on a moose.
Imo,it’s a whole scam unless you have a seeing eye dog or actually need the dog...these people in their little pooches they take everywhere because they’re too cheap to kennel them.
Costco has a sign up that basically indicates they will only allow legitimate service animals.
I saw a perfectly fine person with a dog in there today but I can’t judge because she could be epileptic and it is a seizure dog, etc.
“Anyone wager that it was not an “official” service animal.”
guaranteed it’s a fake ...
You’re probably right. Genuine Service Dogs are extremely well trained. I wouldn’t doubt if “service dog, emotional support animal” trainers have popped up all over the place, which cannot hold a candle to the genuine group. Of course, it’s possible the dog reacted to ear pain during the flight, which could put it off its game, but more likely it’s a poorly trained animal.
unfortunately the laws gover5ning service dogs are poorly written and all it takes is for someone to declare their dogis a service dog.... Me personally thinks there should be a certification process for the dog. dogs that are certified should be registered and tracked...My guess is that 90 percent of dogs that owners claim are service dogs are not adequately trained.
