Looks just like the baleful glare cast upon all of us kids by the family cat one day. He foolishly went to sleep in the clothes dryer, and my oldest brother, not being aware of it, tossed a load of clothes in and turned the dryer on.
A couple of thuds and some muted yowls later (maybe two seconds in all), my brother flung open the dryer door, and out shot the cat. Yes, he was fluffy.

So about 90,000 years ago the civilization on the planet around that star was wiped out when the star matter slammed into the planet.
FTA: While the planetary nebula phase is thought to last for around 10,000 years, astronomers estimate the age of the outer filamentary portions of the Cat’s Eye Nebula’s halo to be 50,000 to 90,000 years.
