Actually, he’s a very good athlete who would be a great athlete if he were 100 pounds or more lighter.
At UF’s NFL Pro Day workouts, the bench pressed 225lbs 36 times, which is nearly at the top of all NFL prospects.
He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.93 seconds, for 464lbs that is impressive.
Some NFL team will probably draft him late in the draft, if he gets his weight under control, he will have a productive NFL career otherwise he’s looking at real health problems in a few years.
Maybe they’ll let him run the ball, like “The Fridge”.
If he can’t keep his weight down in Florida with all that money staring him in the face there’s no hope. He could end up like a circus geek. Make one play and it’s a big deal. The NFL loves that stuff. Think The Refrigerator. Died at age 47.
“He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.93 seconds”
And survived!
I just read that Refrigerator Perry was 390 lb in college.
Yes, I thought I’d seen on one of the Gator pages he did well.
The NFL is littered with players who had weight issues and despite all the vast NFL resources and incentives pushing these guys almost all of them succumbed to the fork.
Witness, Eddie Lacy of the Packers. William "Refrigerator" Perry of the Bears. Jared "Hefty Lefty" Lorenzen of the Giants. And many more.
