The rest of the article mostly supports the title, so I’m guessing that second paragraph is typoed.

I’m no doctor, but I think that ‘keeping dementia away’ depends a lot on keeping one’s mind active and curious, and remaining engaged in things that one finds interesting. Get involved in something, especially something that requires relating to other people.

RE: keeping one’s mind active and curious...
Thanks for the advice. I’m thinking of watching the View and taking notes. Maybe some MSNBC and CNN panels. I can keep my mind active that way, right?
(Kidding).

I have done NO studies on this, so I really don't know. All I KNOW, is personal experiences with others.
I don't claim to be some kind of an "expert" on this topic; however, this study contradicts itself, so how are we supposed to believe ANY of it?

Prayers offered up for you!

Sadly, that didn't help President Reagan.
Unlike some diseases, nobody really know WHAT causes dementia!
To: Svartalfiar
Yes. Typo given consideration.
As to the premise either way, it would truly be a sad life without women. Night as well have a mad life with them.

Thanks, but sadly, they are both going downhill very quickly now. It's very sad, as these were once very vital, active men.
And nobody really understands this disease at all, nor WHY some people come down with it and others don't.

There really are some very good people here still. :-)

EXACTLY!

It comes from habitually shutting one’s ears, or eyes.
As Ben Franklin advised, “Keep your eyes wide open before marriage, and half shut afterward.”
