Bill Maher gets a lot of criticism from conservatives, and rightly so.
But he occasionally says reasonable things to people who would not otherwise hear them. For I’m sure there’s not a single Freeper or MAGA guy in his audience.
It could be a “blind squirrel” kind of thing with Maher. Or maybe he’s seen just a bit of light. Either way, I hope he keeps it up.

I HATED him....and still dislike him a whole lot.
But his whole speech about the President was pretty positive.
His list of thigns he did agree with the president about made him sound like a blue state almost sensible centrist leaning republican
He very pro Israel and said the border needed fixing, agreed wih the President on some other things.
He’s still be a jerk.
But hes’ rich enough and old enough now to lose a bunch of fans and be fine.
He thinks DEI has gone too far...but he should have said it should have NEVER existed to begin with.
He wishes the president he saw in person was like that on TV.
He should know better..no one acts exactly how they are in real life when they are on TV.
And Trump has reasons for saying the things he does live.
Mabe the democratic party is leaving him.
He also thinks born males in women’s sports is absurd
Not sure how he can stay a dem when he doesnt’ agree with their most important “issues.”
but he will

But he occasionally says reasonable things to people who would not otherwise hear them. The guy has spent his entire life in the New York / Los Angeles entertainment industry bubble. It’s a wonder he can think at all after that.

I don't like Bill Maher due to his politics and condescending manner, but there is one thing about him that I will concede: he's not a typical mindless lefty NPC. He's retained his personal agency, unlike so many on the left who just parrot whatever the DNC sent out in an email the night before. He doesn't self-censor to the degree that so many lefties do.
Put another way, he might support some hypothetical lefty politician's politics, but if that politician went and said "2+2=5" on camera, he wouldn't stay silent like a good Party Member, try to come up with some convoluted justification for the statement, or say they 'misspoke'. He'd call that person an idiot, and be willing to do so on the record himself.
