Since April 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been notably absent from public view, sparking speculation as to his whereabouts. However, today may mark his return as he's rumored to meet with Donald Trumps envoy Steve Witkoff in St Petersburg.
-snip-
Despite daily television broadcasts showing a weary-looking Putin, now 72, engaging with local officials and other domestic agendas, these appearances are assessed by experts as likely "canned"suggesting they were pre-recorded.
The enigmatic Russian leader has once again vanished from the public eye, marking the second time this year he's been absent for over a week, fueling widespread speculation about his health. Rumors have previously suggested that Putin uses these disappearances to undergo surgery for alleged serious medical conditions or to receive plastic surgery enhancements.
His partner, Alina Kabaeva, 41, has also been notably missing from the public scene since a gymnastics event in Kazan, coinciding with most of Putin's absence. The last confirmed sighting of Putin at a live public engagement was on April Fool's Day during meetings with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.
Amidst his disappearance, Putin's forces have intensified their brutal campaign against Ukrainian civilians, including an attack in Kryvyi Rih that resulted in the deaths of nine children and 11 adults residents of President Volodymyr Zelensky's hometown.

Leave Pooty be.
He is on his annual Getchapopov Rocksinoff
holiday.
He will be much easier to negotiate with post holiday.
Why don’t you go missing for 10 days so we can ponder your demise?
“The clock is ticking.”
For YouCraynee.
Otherwise, people might begin to suspect that Putin is becoming like our immediate previous US president (Biden) -- feeble and addle-brained.
This crap again?!
This is no different than those predicting the world is going to end on X day.
One day they will be right! Putin will be dead and the world will one day end.
Who the fetch cares?!
Agreed. Putin is like the earth: for decades we keep hearing it’s got only a little bit of time left before it dies.
Hows that Ukraine campaign to take back Crimea going?
I guess fantasizing putin is dead is a good distraction from battlefield disasters. Instead distract yourself with thoughts of What crops blackrock will grow on all the ukr farmland they own, will they stick with wheat or try new crops? It will need to be crops all the laborers they bring in from africa are familiar with. How many africans will blackrock need to bring in to replace all the dead and maimed ukrainians? A little genetic and cultural diversity will be good for ukr.
Pfffft. Elvis hasn’t been seen in 50 years... talk about raising questions!
OMG! Putty has gone and done the disappearing act again. What prey tell are we to do?
ZEEPER FOLLIES PINGLIST!(((PING!)))
Maybe they were on a vacation.

Food poisoning from his muzzie baby mama’s Iftar dinner.
Maybe that will speed up his stage 4 elbow cancer.
All wars are grim and senseless. Victory is poor prize for the mountain of deaths from both sides—still, sometimes its the only answer. This Civil War, turned into a regional war will end soon. As many predicted Russia Won. Time to stop the shooting and start the talking. Time to rebuild and bury the dead. Let their passions rest with them. Mr. Zelenskyy must go and Trump will make the best deal for the people of Ukraine. Russia isn’t going to fall apart with the death of Putin—a new Czar will take power. Ukraine made a number of blunders and lost the war.

from the link:
Consequently, theories about the Russian leader having severe health problems have become a cottage industry. Over the past 15 years or more, I have heard more people claiming to have inside knowledge tell me—at one time or another—that Putin has every kind of cancer known to medical science. A posting started another report that a heart attack had felled him spread like wildfire on an unreliable Telegram channel.
Other reports insist that he has had cancer, has been receiving chemotherapy, and may (or may not) recover. In November 2024, speculation that Putin had Parkinson’s or another severe nervous disorder spiked when he made public appearances in which he appeared to have no control over his twitching legs. In other moments of his coverage on television, his hands seem to shake continuously.
The final question to be answered, as one article published less than three months after the invasion of Ukraine asked, “Is Putin sick, or are we just meant to think he is.” The anxiety and the uncertainty created when these rumors about the former KGB Lt. Col. being on death’s doorstep appear now to be harnessed to strengthen his repressive grip on the country rather than the opposite.
He probably took a vacation with his gymnast girlfriend/wife and their 4 children like anybody else.
