I know someone who simply cut out soda, snacks, and fast food and junk food and has lost 60+ pounds in one year and still counting.

He eats well, but did not go on any excessive 1,200 calorie/day diet. That’s not needed if you cut out the carbs.

I once had a neighbor who was very fat. He waddled when he walked. His brother lived a couple of doors down and was some what fat but he worked outdoors repairing rails.
I saw the fat brother always bringing home or getting delivered fast food. He did have exercise equipment but if you are eating fast food you will not lose weight.

If I cut out the chips and bread and ice cream I would lose any weight around the middle.
