The climate crisis is not a distant threat; it's happening right now and affecting what matters most to us. Hurricanes intensified by a warming planet and drought-fueled wildfires are destroying our communities. Rising seas and flooding are swallowing our homes. And record-breaking heat waves are reshaping our way of life.
The good news is we know how to turn the tide and avoid the worst possible outcomes. However, understanding what needs to be done can be confusing due to a constant stream of climate updates, scientific findings, and critical decisions that are shaping our future.
That's why the ABC News Climate and Weather Unit is cutting through the noise by curating what you need to know to keep the people and places you care about safe. We are dedicated to providing clarity amid the chaos, giving you the facts and insights necessary to navigate the climate realities of today -- and tomorrow.

Okay, I get it. If Trump would just stop the tariffs and die, the climate would be wonderful again.
STFU you dumb-a$$ morons!
When I was a little kid, my dad ( the workaholic) would work in the orchard near us for extra money outside of his usual prison guard job.
Along with going picking with him, the owner would call him up to set the smudge pots and I went along, too.
Pretty much anywhere he went, I followed along like a loyal dog.
I miss him so much.
If he was still alive you can bet the house fire nightmare wouldn’t be what it still is.
He’d have taken up for me and I’d not have been cheated and short on money to get back home.
Miss him bad.
😢
Since the orchard is just back the road from me, I might go look.
Yes, of course. And, the little kiddies you were caught with really did say it was OK with what you did to them. Right. I believe that, too.
As a much beloved Texas politico once said; “Eat death scum and die.”
Translation: "What we need you to believe."
ABC News is now going to ”curate” what you need to know. How reassuring of them. As if they haven’t been doing it all along.
Oh no, pretty soon I’m going to have the ocean tide in Kansas.
