Justin Fisher was a federal employee and his wife Emily Fisher was an exec at a clean energy NGO.

The post uses past tense for both of their employment. They are 49 and 50 years old, at critical points in their careers. Too old to easily transition to another career. Too young to retire. This makes them desperate.
Consider the possible scenario: They have been spending all of their income and a little more, while depending on employment into the foreseeable future to maintain their lifestyle. This was a reasonable assumption until President Trump won the election.
Now they face impoverishment in months. If they have a house, the DC house market is dropping and they likely have no equity in it.
From highly paid bureaucrats with great benefits, to impoverished unemployed 49 and 50 year old people with few saleable skills in a matter of a few months...
Perhaps they can find management jobs in the new Trumpian economy. It is not hard to see desperation.
I think you’ve put your finger on the desperation part of the picture. But what about the logic and reason we’d expect from a middle-aged couple? Running around committing petty crimes that will involve the legal system and lawyers isn’t a logical thing for even a liberal to do. They took their bad situation and poured gasoline on the fire.
If they’re truly this stupid, imagine what horrible employees they must have been. Certainly not the type of worker you’d want in a for-profit company. A couple of times in my career I urged the company to fire certain people because they were dangerously stupid. In every case the employee I wanted gone cost the company big money. One literally lit a pile of zirconium shavings to see if the warning sign was accurate. That cost a couple million dollars. Another, when told how the rosebud looking thing connected to a water pipe was and how it worked flicked his lighter under it to see. Flooded out an entire store. I think this couple are like those employees. Too dangerous to have around.
Yeah, it’s clear now that saving the planet is actually very, very low on the priority list if cutting funds to money-laundering NGOs can make you turn on Tesla.
A classic.
Democrats attacked the vehicles of other Democrats.
That might be a crime in DC—ya never know...
Lol.
I am reminded of the movie Animal House.
“A Futile and Stupid Gesture”
They’ll claim photo/video shopping or cgi. Remember, joementia told us if it’s truth or facts(?) they’ll choose truth. Again, ?.
Sadly, these clowns are in DC and stand virtually zero chance of being convicted.
The DC courts need to be shut down and moved to a non-partisan, or even less partisan jurisdiction.
The lefties are crying to get their illegal alien criminals back from El Salvador NOW, but are dragging their feet with domestic terrorists in this country. These two aholes destroyed five very expensive Teslas. Investigations my eye. They’re guilty. They will tell you that and laugh in your face. They should already be in prison rotting away like the dog turds they are.
I’m still going to prepare for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Good catch proof the problem with democrats started at the birth of the party.
I took a road trip this weekend. On the interstate, I passed a car carrier rig loaded with brand new Teslas.
2nd thing I noticed was the lack of any branding whatsoever on any of the vehicles.
No logo, no name. Fresh out of the factory.
I agree, pretty close to it.
The precedent was set in Minnesota — where a sheriff called off charging once the rich, entitled terrorist agreed to pay off the rich, entitled EV owner.
Therefore, no crime.
Kinda like giving your child to Michael Jackson and then accepting a $1M payment to shut up about how he abused your child. No crime.
Maybe they felt they could rely on a sympathetic and “fair” D.C. jury.
They learned that Teslas record everything that happens around them, so they knew they were caught. They knew the jig was up.
Thought they might get some sympathy from the judge for showing "remorse."
I watched “The Ghost Breakers” not long ago based on that clip.
I love Bob Hope. He was a real patriot, and...very funny, too!
